A book that made me lose sleep—literally. I just had to keep reading until my eyes gave up and I finally passed out.

I’m a sucker for a good romance. Always have been. I’ve even made a habit of reading one every weekend. I love the vibes, the tropes, the early relationship struggles, the falling in love, and—of course—the happy endings. Romance novels are my little treat to myself. So when I got an ARC of the latest book by Kandi Steiner last week… YES. It hit all the right spots.
Oh my goodness, this woman can write angsty romance. You feel it in your gut. She breaks you—but you can trust her to put you back together again.
And this book is no exception. If you love messy, emotional, can’t-look-away romances, Love Overboard completely delivers.
Set against the backdrop of a luxury yacht being filmed for a reality TV show, this story follows Ember and Finn—two exes forced back into each other’s orbit with cameras capturing every moment. What unfolds is a whirlwind of unresolved feelings, undeniable chemistry, and just the right amount of chaos.
What really stood out to me is how addictive this book is. It genuinely feels like watching a reality show play out in your head—the drama, the tension, the crew dynamics, the awkward moments… it’s all there. The interview snippets at the start of each chapter are especially brilliant. They tease just enough of what’s to come, pulling you in and making it nearly impossible to stop reading because you need to know how everything unfolds. Such a clever touch!
The second-chance romance is where this book truly shines. Ember and Finn’s relationship is layered with history, heartbreak, and longing. Their connection feels intense and real, and the slow burn keeps you hooked the entire time.
And the yearning—oh my goodness—it’s delicious.
The setting is absolutely perfect. The forced proximity on a yacht, combined with the pressure of being filmed, creates nonstop tension and drama. It raises the stakes in such a fun, unique way and makes every interaction feel heightened and meaningful.
Overall, Love Overboard is:
- Messy in the best way
- Packed with angst and longing
- Full of chemistry and emotional depth
- Addictively entertaining from start to finish
This is one of those books you fly through because you need to know what happens next—and when it’s over, you’re just not ready to say goodbye yet.
*I received an ARC via NetGalley—thank you to Kandi Steiner, Keeperton | Arndell, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
